By entering your film for consideration, you authorize your work is cleared for festival exhibition and accept full legal responsibility for the intellectual property therein. Entry into the festival constitutes permission to exhibit your work at the Roswell Film Festival.
Each entry must be accompanied by a completed Entry Form via Film Freeway, paid Entry Fee and submitted for digital review on Film Freeway. Foreign language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English.
If selected to be shown at the Roswell Film Festival: THREE (3) BLU-RAY or DVD copies of the work, formatted for multi-zone or for Zone 1 (North America) and labeled with the Film’s Title, Running Time, Format (NTSC), and Director(s) Name(s). Entries in any other format will not be accepted for preview. Check that each submitted BLU-RAY or DVD plays in its entirety on consumer BLU-RAY players. Also, do not put adhesive labels on the discs unless it is a professional output job (if burning yourself, use a permanent marker to write necessary information). If you have a DCP copy, our theatre has the ability to ingest. You may send in a copy of your film in DCP Format on a hard drive. ALL Shipping and Handling costs are your responsibility both sending and returning. If you want your hard drive returned, you must include return shipping prepaid packaging and labels.
All films are subject to reviews and rejection. Content acceptability will be established by the Festival. Any content above what constitutes an “R” rating will automatically be disqualified. Please avoid submitting politically motivated/slanderous and overtly or explicit sexually oriented films. Entry materials will not be returned and will be destroyed or discarded by the Festival. Festival will retain a copy of your film for archive purposes.
All submissions are handled fairly and equally. We encourage you to submit as early as possible. All entries will be viewed by the selection committee. The Festival will make no cuts or changes to your film. All selected entrants will be notified by email and on our website. The Festival reserves the right to make any necessary changes in scheduling. We will not transfer PAL for viewing — only send in NTSC format. Festival or Theatre will not be responsible for special projection settings for the showing of your film, it is your responsibility to render your film ready for theatre showing.
The number of screenings, days and venues is at the sole discretion of the Festival.
Cost of shipping is the responsibility of the entrant. Film copies must be sent to the festival prepaid. C.O.D.’S will be refused. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Please do not send us masters, originals, your only copy, etc.
If selected, send a press kit for use in the festival. Digital Media (i.e. social media items, film synopsis for promotions, digital poster, film trailer links, etc.) can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Mail items (i.e. posters, cards, etc.) can be sent to the below address information. Physical materials will not be returned and must remain available for the duration of the Festival dates. The festival reserves the right in deciding the content released and where it is released. It is recommended to send materials in as quickly as possible for promotional purposes through our networks and to be included in our Official Festival Program, Website, Theater and Social Media outlets.
Roswell Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening to the public, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
Entrant shall indemnify and hold harmless the Roswell Film Festival and any other agents, owners and employees of said entities from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
